LipAfrika respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our information officer is the owner of LipAfrika, who you can reach on WhatsApp 083 369 4763.

What we collect

• When you order: your name, cell number, email address (if you give it), the address or PEP store we send your order to, what you ordered and how you paid.
• If you create an account: your name, email, cell number, delivery details and a securely scrambled version of your password (we never see your actual password).
• Technical information: a scrambled form of your internet connection's address, used only to stop spam and fraud.

Why we use it

To process and deliver your order, contact you about it (by WhatsApp, SMS, phone or email), keep your account working, and keep records we're required to keep. We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

Only the companies we need to fulfil your order: the delivery company you choose (The Courier Guy or PAXI), our payment provider if you pay online (your card details go straight to them, never to us), our email provider for order receipts, and our website host. They may only use it for that purpose.

Cookies and storage

• Login cookie: if you log in, we use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. It’s removed when you log out or when it expires.
• Your bag is saved in your own browser’s storage, so it’s still there when you come back. It isn’t a cookie, and we can’t see it until you place an order.

We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, so we don’t need a cookie banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you won’t be able to stay logged in without the login cookie.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for five years, because tax law requires it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

How we protect it

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout, scrambled (hashed) passwords, secure login cookies and access controls, so only LipAfrika staff can see orders. If a security breach puts your information at risk, we’ll let you and the Information Regulator know, as the law requires.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us on WhatsApp. If you're not happy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
